Every other box got a look, but edge rusher did not. The Commanders will head to camp with the same hole they walked in with. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
That Pregnon pick is the receipt they will wave around later. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on Sonny Styles in the 22nd overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
A clean, defensible pick in slot 25 with a little surplus value in Kenyon Sadiq. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A tidy bit of business in the Round 2 slot, where Emmanuel Pregnon graded well above the range. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Deion Burks at pick No. 123. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Isaiah World in the 147th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Domani Jackson in Round 6, Pick 6. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jadon Canady. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Noah Whittington in pick 223, just ahead of his grade. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
