Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Jake Majors, the No. 91 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick 165.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Running back is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 25 they get a true top target at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Good price on Dylan Fairchild in the 58th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Nothing to complain about; Donovan Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Circle this one: TreVeyon Henderson at Round 4, Pick 25 is a fall that decides a draft. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Jake Majors in pick No. 165 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Trevor Etienne in No. 241 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
