You can usually follow a front office's logic. This one is harder. The Packers spent No. 58 on Junior Colson while edge rusher, tight end and other spots sat unaddressed. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Oladapo to cover a lot of smaller sins. The cost of the Taylor reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in Round 2, Pick 9; it is a wash and a sensible one. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick No. 58 on Junior Colson with edge rusher, tight end and other spots unsolved.
Trey Benson at No. 88 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.

Garret Greenfield at the 219th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Bub Means at the 245th overall pick squarely in line with his ranking. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They jumped the gun on Trey Taylor, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
