Seattle Seahawks

More right than wrong for the Seahawks, and a B to prove it.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Patrick Payton; the Seahawks did not wait, grabbing him 56 spots ahead at pick No. 188. The bottom line is a respectable B.

The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Haulcy to cover a lot of smaller sins.

Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.32 · Pick 32 · Olaivavega Ioane · OG · rank 22
In slot 32 they get a building block for the line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.32 · Pick 64 · A.J. Haulcy · S · rank 50
They read the board right and A.J. Haulcy was the payoff at No. 64. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R3.32 · Pick 96 · Treydan Stukes · CB · rank 93
Good price on Treydan Stukes in Round 3, Pick 32, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
R6.7 · Pick 188 · Patrick Payton · DL-EDGE · rank 244
This one needs a full-page explanation: Patrick Payton in pick 188, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
