The rest of the league had time to spare on Patrick Payton; the Seahawks did not wait, grabbing him 56 spots ahead at pick No. 188. The bottom line is a respectable B.
The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. They banked enough surplus on Haulcy to cover a lot of smaller sins.
Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 32 they get a building block for the line at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
They read the board right and A.J. Haulcy was the payoff at No. 64. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Good price on Treydan Stukes in Round 3, Pick 32, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Patrick Payton in pick 188, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
