It is the swing that defines the weekend: Keilan Robinson in slot 255, a good 55 spots before the room expected him. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
McGlothern falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 25 they get a plug-and-play piece up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
No edge and no loss on Edgerrin Cooper in pick 41; it is a wash and a sensible one. A minor itch, scratched.
They barely believed it either: Darius Robinson still on the board at slot 58. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Max Melton slipping to the 88th overall pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
They did well to land Dadrion Taylor-Demerson in the 91st pick, just ahead of his grade. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
No drama and no debate, Christian Jones went about where he belonged in the Round 4 slot. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value said wait; Tanor Bortolini in slot 169 says they were not listening. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
You do not let a cornerback like Dwight McGlothern reach No. 202 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They liked Michael Barrett enough to skip the value, taking him in pick 219. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
They paid sticker price for Jalen Sundell in the 245th pick, and that is fine. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Keilan Robinson. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
