Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Jarvis Brownlee Jr. got past him. The Patriots do not have to explain a thing at the Round 5 slot.
They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. The Divine Deablo deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
Every board in the league had Smith lower, and that gap is the story.
Good work on the whole, with edge rusher the one box left unchecked.

In the 13th overall pick they get a cornerstone up front. A real need, handled.
They paid sticker price for Ja'Tavion Sanders in slot 34, and that is fine. The roster fit checks out.
