Nobody had Keilan Robinson this high, and it is not close. The Packers reached 54 spots to get him at the 255th overall pick. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Sainristil falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 25 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Edgerrin Cooper at pick No. 41 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A minor itch, scratched.
They let Kris Jenkins come to them and pounced at the 58th overall pick. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Value with a capital V on Mike Sainristil in the 88th pick, a genuine coup. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reach for Zak Zinter in slot 91; a little patience would have been rewarded. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Javon Foster in the Round 4 slot. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
A slide stopped in the 169th pick, with Tykee Smith worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
They reached into another round for Trevin Wallace, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Solomon Byrd. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A straight-up fair deal on Jalen Sundell at Round 7, Pick 25, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Value said wait; Keilan Robinson in No. 255 says they were not listening. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
