The Packers cashed the board's mistake on Jones: B.

The board owed the Packers one, and it paid up: Elijah Jones, the No. 193 name on the board, sitting there at Round 7, Pick 31 like a gift left on the doorstep.

Every board in the league had Bishop lower, and that gap is the story. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.25 · Pick 25 · Quinyon Mitchell · CB · rank 19
In the 25th pick they get a lockdown presence outside at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
R2.9 · Pick 41 · Graham Barton · OT · rank 28
Graham Barton slid further than he should have, and pick No. 41 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R2.26 · Pick 58 · Junior Colson · LB · rank 50
Value with a capital V on Junior Colson in Round 2, Pick 26, a genuine coup. A minor need, but a need all the same.
R3.25 · Pick 88 · Cole Bishop · S · rank 110
Cole Bishop in the Round 3 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. A minor itch, scratched.
R3.28 · Pick 91 · Max Melton · CB · rank 63
They barely believed it either: Max Melton still on the board at pick 91. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.27 · Pick 127 · Trey Benson · RB · rank 96
You do not let a running back like Trey Benson reach the 127th overall pick and blink. They did not. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.32 · Pick 168 · Sataoa Laumea · OT · rank 117
Sataoa Laumea at slot 168 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
R6.29 · Pick 204 · Jaylan Ford · LB · rank 196
The board had Jaylan Ford higher than No. 204, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
R6.41 · Pick 216 · Tyler Owens · S · rank 228
Tyler Owens in slot 216 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
R7.23 · Pick 243 · Daijun Edwards · RB · rank 205
Daijun Edwards at the 243rd pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
R7.31 · Pick 251 · Elijah Jones · CB · rank 193
Circle this one: Elijah Jones at Round 7, Pick 31 is a fall that decides a draft. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
