This is the pick they will still be bragging about in July: Raheim Sanders, the No. 143 name on the board, stolen at the 236th pick. The bottom line is a respectable B.
A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. Morris has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. On the needs board they went 3 of 8, with tight end the one that mattered most.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 29 they get a two-high chess piece, and a steal at that. Need was not the driver here.
Circle this one: Jalon Walker at the 61st overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. A minor itch, scratched.
Colston Loveland in slot 79 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Demetrius Knight Jr. at pick 146 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
No edge and no loss on DJ Campbell in No. 203; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A running back of that caliber at the 236th pick is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Micah Morris well ahead of where he belonged. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
