Grand theft in pick 173: the Chiefs steal Pritchett and grade out a B.

The rest of the league will want that one back. Nehemiah Pritchett tumbling to the Chiefs in Round 5, Pick 37 is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. Eichenberg has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The Solomon pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with quarterback still on the board.
They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 26th pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Ja'Tavion Sanders in slot 35 is fair value, right on his grade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Fair-plus on Jordan Morgan, a quiet win that adds up over a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Dominick Puni at No. 79 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Somehow Kingsley Suamataia was still sitting there in the Round 3 slot, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Mike Sainristil at pick No. 95 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A conviction pick on Maason Smith at pick 102 that the board grades a round light. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Hard to square with the roster. With positions of obvious need still on the board, Javon Solomon adds an OLB-EDGE and leaves quarterback untouched.
A reach for Theo Johnson in slot 112; a little patience would have been rewarded. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Value said wait; Mohamed Kamara in the 113th overall pick says they were not listening. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A market-rate wide receiver, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Johnny Wilson. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
This one needs a full-page explanation: Tommy Eichenberg in No. 122, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
The board fumbled Nehemiah Pritchett all the way to the 173rd pick, and they scooped it up. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Taking Kendall Milton in the Round 6 slot is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
