The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback.
However the rest shakes out, Still at that price is a win they earned. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the interior defensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Xavier Worthy in No. 47 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Christian Haynes. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
No edge and no loss on Blake Corum in pick No. 74; it is a wash and a sensible one. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Nothing to complain about; Khyree Jackson went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Luke McCaffrey in the 140th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They took Jaylan Ford at par in slot 185, which is nothing to complain about. It adds depth where they could use a little.
They will replay Tarheeb Still at the Round 7 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
