When a board-topper like Cam Skattebo slides to pick 220, you do not overthink it, and the Patriots did not.
They won the margins on every swap, and it adds up fast. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
The Patriots clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.
In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.

In the 19th pick they get a No. 1 receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Good price on Xavier Restrepo in the Round 2 slot, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
