Larceny in pick No. 107 lands the Browns a B+, Slaughter and all.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Browns watched Jake Slaughter slide 52 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.14 · Pick 14 · Carnell Tate · WR · rank 12
In slot 14 they get a No. 1 receiver. The biggest hole, addressed.
R1.24 · Pick 24 · Caleb Lomu · OT · rank 28
In No. 24 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.7 · Pick 39 · Omar Cooper Jr. · WR · rank 34
Omar Cooper Jr. at Round 2, Pick 7 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Brandon Cisse · CB · rank 36
Brandon Cisse in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R3.16 · Pick 80 · Chris Bell · WR · rank 42
They will replay Chris Bell at pick 80 for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · Jake Slaughter · C · rank 55
Somehow Jake Slaughter was still sitting there in the 107th pick, and they pounced on premier offensive lineman value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
R5.1 · Pick 141 · Drew Allar · QB · rank 153
A premium they did not need to pay, Drew Allar a notch or two before his time. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
R5.6 · Pick 146 · Harold Perkins Jr. · LB · rank 129
A slide stopped in the 146th overall pick, with Harold Perkins Jr. worth more than the price. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
R5.9 · Pick 149 · Kaytron Allen · RB · rank 143
Kaytron Allen in Round 5, Pick 9 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
R5.33 · Pick 173 · Nate Boerkircher · TE · rank 156
The board had Nate Boerkircher higher than the 173rd pick, and the tight end fell to them anyway. The roster fit checks out.
R7.32 · Pick 248 · Noah Whittington · RB · rank 219
Noah Whittington at the 248th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
