The trade table was where it all came apart. The Chargers shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill.
The Allen reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. They will regret leaving wide receiver for another day if the season turns on it. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
If Brock Bowers and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick-by-Pick
Brock Bowers in pick No. 10 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Chop Robinson at slot 37 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Nothing to complain about; Byron Murphy II went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
No drama and no debate, Blake Corum went about where he belonged in the 69th overall pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Braelon Allen at Round 4, Pick 22 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, James Williams at No. 126 squarely in line with his ranking. A minor need, but a need all the same.
