The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Patriots spent their marquee pick on Drake Maye, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
However the rest shakes out, Worthy at that price is a win they earned. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 3rd overall pick they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
A quiet steal in Round 2, Pick 2: JC Latham for less than the market said. The roster fit checks out.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Xavier Worthy in slot 68, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
They barely believed it either: Malachi Corley still on the board at the Round 4 slot. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
