Start where it matters. The Giants took Drake Maye to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. No fireworks, but a solid B.
The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. On value alone, Newton makes the weekend a net positive.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 6th pick they get their quarterback of the future. A real need, handled.
No edge and no loss on Rome Odunze in slot 8; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Christian Haynes in pick No. 70 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Cole Bishop. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Josh Newton at No. 140. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
They went early on Jaylan Ford in pick 185, and the value did not follow. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
