The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: De'Corian Clark, the 219th pick, roughly 24 picks past where he belonged. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B+.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. Job largely done: edge rusher settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
They let Ennis Rakestraw Jr. come to them and pounced at Round 2, Pick 19. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A reasonable price with a little left over, Kiran Amegadjie in slot 58. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Caelen Carson is a better player than No. 83 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Payton Wilson in the Round 3 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Gabriel Murphy at pick No. 91 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Sataoa Laumea in the 125th pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Max Melton at the 126th overall pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Javon Foster in pick 135 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Nothing to complain about; Aki Ogunbiyi went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
A slide stopped in the 203rd overall pick, with Christian Jones worth more than the price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Miyan Williams at pick No. 217 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
They will replay De'Corian Clark at the 219th pick for years; that is how good the value is. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
The board had Jontrey Hunter higher than pick 224, and the safety fell to them anyway. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
No edge and no loss on Tatum Bethune in No. 246; it is a wash and a sensible one. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
