Baltimore Ravens

Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Ravens.

The Ravens clearly saw something nobody else did in George Gumbs Jr., taking him 37 picks ahead of his grade. The board is not convinced.

The Hurst value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 8 of the wish list covered.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.19 · Pick 19 · Kenyon Sadiq · TE · rank 18
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a seam-stretching tight end. A clean fit for the roster.
R2.13 · Pick 45 · Jake Slaughter · C · rank 55
The board had cheaper options than Jake Slaughter at the Round 2 slot, and it noticed. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
R3.16 · Pick 80 · Keionte Scott · CB · rank 60
Keionte Scott in pick 80 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R4.15 · Pick 115 · Ted Hurst · WR · rank 87
They barely believed it either: Ted Hurst still on the board at the 115th pick. The roster fit checks out.
R4.19 · Pick 119 · Darrell Jackson Jr. · DT · rank 101
Circle this one: Darrell Jackson Jr. at the 119th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
R5.14 · Pick 154 · George Gumbs Jr. · DE-EDGE · rank 191
This one needs a full-page explanation: George Gumbs Jr. in pick No. 154, miles early. A need, and now a little less of one.
R5.22 · Pick 162 · Beau Stephens · OG · rank 159
Beau Stephens at the Round 5 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
R5.33 · Pick 173 · Aamil Wagner · OT · rank 174
No drama and no debate, Aamil Wagner went about where he belonged in No. 173. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R5.34 · Pick 174 · Kaleb Elarms-Orr · LB · rank 178
Kaleb Elarms-Orr at pick 174 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It adds depth where they could use a little.
R6.30 · Pick 211 · Kaelon Black · RB · rank 217
By-the-book stuff, Kaelon Black at the 211th pick squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
