Boards are made to be trusted, and the Cowboys shredded theirs for Malik Washington. He came off 23 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made. The Ben Stille deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
Terrion Arnold in the Round 1 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Kiran Amegadjie. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
By-the-book stuff, Tykee Smith at pick 92 squarely in line with his ranking. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Beaux Limmer at No. 124 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
A conviction pick on Jaylan Ford at the 133rd pick that the board grades a round light. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
