The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Giants spent their marquee pick on Jayden Daniels, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.
Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Hadden pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 6 they get their quarterback of the future. A clean fit for the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Xavier Legette at slot 39, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Kalen King in the Round 2 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A premium they did not need to pay, Christian Haynes a notch or two before his time. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Donovan Edwards went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kamal Hadden at Round 5, Pick 7 is the proof. The roster fit checks out.
They paid sticker price for Steve Linton in pick No. 185, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
