The rest of the league will want that one back. Michael Taaffe tumbling to the Jets in the 103rd overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.
They will regret leaving cornerback for another day if the season turns on it. Allar has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 2nd overall pick they get a disruptor off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
In slot 16 they get the heartbeat of the defense at a price that makes it sweeter. More want than need.
They read the board right and Olaivavega Ioane was the payoff at No. 33. It fills a real need, too.
