Thirty-one other rooms let Quinshon Judkins slide, and the Chiefs were the ones holding the card at Round 4, Pick 31. Highway robbery. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
Leaving tight end unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The Ersery reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a blindside protector, a steep price for the projection. Exactly the need they had to hit.
No edge and no loss on Zy Alexander in the 64th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Jalen Royals in Round 3, Pick 2 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A linebacker of that caliber at the 96th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
You do not let a running back like Quinshon Judkins reach pick 132 and blink. They did not. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
