The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Kamari Lassiter, pick 79, roughly 19 picks past where he belonged.
They punted on tight end, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Small wins on the phones, but wins all the same.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most. They came away with juice, if not much beef up front.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In No. 21 they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Blake Fisher at pick No. 64 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Kamari Lassiter in slot 79 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They did well to land Maason Smith in the Round 4 slot, just ahead of his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A tidy bit of business in Round 6, Pick 12, where Tahj Washington graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Daijun Edwards slid further than he should have, and pick 252 is lovely value for the running back. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
