The rest of the league will want that one back. Kamal Hadden tumbling to the Dolphins in the Round 6 slot is a gift they did not have to think twice about.
If Zinter pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.
On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th pick they get a true top target at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Zak Zinter well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
By-the-book stuff, Dallin Holker at No. 162 squarely in line with his ranking. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Kamal Hadden at the 203rd pick is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Eric Gentry at pick 246 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It fills a real need, too.
