You build a draft on nights like this. Nehemiah Pritchett had no business being available in No. 157, and the Dolphins did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It nets out to a B, which feels about right.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through wide receiver. Adding Cade Otton by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
The trade work was a quiet net positive. Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braden Fiske. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
You do not let a cornerback like Nehemiah Pritchett reach slot 157 and blink. They did not. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Kendall Milton at pick 186 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Joe Milton III in the 200th pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
LaDarius Henderson at the 239th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It fills a real need, too.
