Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Dylan Laube got past him. The Dolphins do not have to explain a thing at the 183rd overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B+.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope, outstanding value to boot. The biggest hole, addressed.
No drama and no debate, Xavier Worthy went about where he belonged in pick 55. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Max Melton in Round 2, Pick 31 is fair value, right on his grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Javon Foster is a better player than No. 130 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It fills a real need, too.
Ben Sinnott in the 132nd overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
By-the-book stuff, Mason McCormick at slot 157 squarely in line with his ranking. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Steal is underselling it; Dylan Laube at the 183rd pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
A straight-up fair deal on Nick Gargiulo at pick No. 197, value and slot in agreement. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Trevin Wallace in the 241st pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
