The Dolphins did not so much draft Patrick Payton as overpay for him, 93 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The trade ledger is the best part of the whole weekend. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
