There is a lot to like until you notice quarterback is still a hole. The Dolphins never got to the one that mattered most. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Van Pran pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 29th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line. A real need, handled.
They paid up for Sedrick Van Pran at Round 2, Pick 29 when waiting would have done the job. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
By-the-book stuff, Jaylan Ford at pick 166 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
