The Dolphins went off the board in a big way for Dylan McMahon, 63 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. They went 3 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 21st pick they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Chris Braswell at Round 2, Pick 21, value and slot in agreement. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
LaDarius Henderson in pick 155 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Christian Jones in the Round 6 slot is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Value said wait; Dylan McMahon in slot 199 says they were not listening. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
They reached into another round for Zion Logue, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
