You build a draft on nights like this. Josiah Trotter had no business being available in the Round 3 slot, and the Dolphins did the only sane thing and turned in the card.
They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. If Keenan III pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 11th overall pick they get a long-term starter on the line, even if it was a touch early. A real need, handled.
In No. 30 they get a wrecking ball inside. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy little value on Emmanuel McNeil-Warren in slot 43, a step better than break-even. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Germie Bernard at the 75th pick is money in the bank, a wide receiver taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Dontay Corleone at Round 3, Pick 23. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
The board fumbled Josiah Trotter all the way to pick No. 90, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Treydan Stukes at pick 94 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Tim Keenan III in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
