The Dolphins did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Anthony Gould fell into the 200th pick.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 3 of 8 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick No. 21 they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
A tidy bit of business in No. 55, where Kris Jenkins graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mason McCormick. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Dwight McGlothern at pick 186 is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
A top-tier wide receiver at a bargain, Anthony Gould in the 200th pick, plain and simple. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Tyler Owens at the 239th overall pick is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
