When a board-topper like Roger Rosengarten slides to pick No. 178, you do not overthink it, and the Dolphins did not.
They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. They are betting Van Pran proves the room right and everyone else wrong. The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Bottom line, with Sedrick Van Pran leading the way, this is a class that should pay off fast and rarely be regretted.
Pick-by-Pick
Sedrick Van Pran in the 55th pick is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
No edge and no loss on Michael Hall Jr. in pick 81; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Marshawn Kneeland at the Round 3 slot is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
McKinnley Jackson in the 127th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They read the board right and Josh Newton was the payoff at No. 134. A minor itch, scratched.

Circle this one: Luke McCaffrey at the 186th overall pick is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A conviction pick on Keith Randolph Jr. at No. 189 that the board grades a round light. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Myles Harden at pick No. 200 is the proof. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
The board fumbled Nathaniel Watson all the way to Round 7, Pick 6, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Sheridan Jones at slot 239 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Tyrice Knight in the 248th pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
