The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Lee Hunter, the No. 48 name on the board, sitting there at Round 3, Pick 27 like a gift left on the doorstep. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 9 of the wish list covered. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 26 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare, outstanding value to boot. A real need, handled.
They will replay Lee Hunter at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Keyron Crawford at the 126th pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It fills a real need, too.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Max Llewellyn in Round 5, Pick 25. The roster fit checks out.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Marlin Klein at pick No. 168 is the proof. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Nice patience on Ar'maj Reed-Adams, who had no business lasting to slot 182. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
A slide stopped in No. 220, with Toriano Pride Jr. worth more than the price. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
