The board owed the Broncos one, and it paid up: Keionte Scott, the No. 61 name on the board, sitting there at the Round 4 slot like a gift left on the doorstep. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The Roush reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
Pick-by-Pick
Sam Roush at slot 62 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They will replay Deontae Lawson at the 108th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Somehow Keionte Scott was still sitting there in the 111th pick, and they pounced on premier cornerback value. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Kage Casey slid further than he should have, and Round 5, Pick 30 is lovely value for the offensive lineman. The roster fit checks out.
They read the board right and Terion Stewart was the payoff at pick 246. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, John Michael Gyllenborg at pick No. 256. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Kendrick Law at No. 257 is the proof. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
