Boards are made to be trusted, and the Chargers shredded theirs for Sawyer Robertson. He came off 149 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
That is an interior defensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
Pick-by-Pick
No edge and no loss on T.J. Parker in No. 22; it is a wash and a sensible one. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They reached a country mile for Sawyer Robertson at the 55th overall pick, and the board is aghast. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Circle this one: Caleb Banks at the Round 3 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Austin Barber at slot 123 is the proof. A need, and now a little less of one.
Red Murdock slipping to the 204th pick is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
