If confidence were a draft strategy, the Colts would have aced it. Khordae Sydnor at pick 214 is 234 spots clear of where he belonged. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.
They banked enough surplus on Louis to cover a lot of smaller sins. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
They paid up for Jake Slaughter at No. 47 when waiting would have done the job. A need, and now a little less of one.
Deion Burks at the 78th overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Kyle Louis in Round 4, Pick 13 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Tyreak Sapp in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
