The rest of the league will want that one back. Dontay Corleone tumbling to the Jets in the 103rd overall pick is a gift they did not have to think twice about. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Bisontis reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.
Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 2 they get a bell-cow for the offense. A real need, handled.
In the 16th overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker, though they paid up to get him. More want than need.
Eli Stowers at Round 2, Pick 1 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Value said wait; Chase Bisontis in No. 44 says they were not listening. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Dontay Corleone at the Round 4 slot is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Will Lee III in the 140th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They reached a country mile for David Gusta at pick No. 179, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
They read the board right and Jeremiah Wright was the payoff at slot 228. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in pick 242, where Xavier Nwankpa graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
