The Panthers torched the value chart for Cade Klubnik, taking him 88 spots sooner than anyone had him slotted. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.
Proctor at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. For all the activity, linebacker went untouched, which is hard to explain.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick-by-Pick
In slot 19 they get a problem off the edge. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
They talked themselves into Cade Klubnik at pick 51, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They reached a country mile for De'Zhaun Stribling at pick No. 83, and the board is aghast. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Jalon Kilgore at the Round 4 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Kaleb Proctor in No. 158 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It adds depth where they could use a little.
A slide stopped in Round 5, Pick 19, with Dametrious Crownover worth more than the price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
The board had Josh Cameron higher than slot 200, and the wide receiver fell to them anyway. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
