The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Titans watched Joshua Josephs slide 22 picks past his grade and did not hesitate. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.
The Joly pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.
The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but running back.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 4 they get a disruptor off the edge. Exactly the need they had to hit.
A straight-up fair deal on Dillon Thieneman at the 35th pick, value and slot in agreement. A minor need, but a need all the same.
They barely believed it either: Joshua Josephs still on the board at slot 66. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Justin Joly at the Round 4 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jaishawn Barham in Round 5, Pick 2. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Parker Brailsford at pick No. 144 is the proof. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
They paid up for Jalen Stroman at the 184th overall pick when waiting would have done the job. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
Taking Kaleb Elarms-Orr in No. 194 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A need, and now a little less of one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, TJ Hall at the Round 7 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
