The trade table was where it all came apart. The Dolphins shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
They took Xavier Worthy at par in the 55th pick, which is nothing to complain about. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Ruke Orhorhoro in slot 65 is fair value, right on his grade. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Luke McCaffrey is a better player than the 158th overall pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Tanor Bortolini in pick No. 184 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
No edge and no loss on Erick All in Round 6, Pick 23; it is a wash and a sensible one. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Edefuan Ulofoshio in the Round 7 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. A need, and now a little less of one.
