Boards are made to be trusted, and the Dolphins shredded theirs for Frank Gore Jr.. He came off 28 spots early, and the room will hear about it.
For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with wide receiver the one that mattered most.
Good work on the whole, with quarterback the one box left unchecked.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a blindside protector, even if it was a touch early. A clean fit for the roster.
Marshawn Kneeland at the 55th pick is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
A straight-up fair deal on Nelson Ceaser at slot 158, value and slot in agreement. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Isaiah Williams at pick 184 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the wide receiver. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Frank Gore Jr. well ahead of where he belonged. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
A tidy little value on Michael Barrett in No. 241, a step better than break-even. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
