They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Eyabi Okie-Anoma, 83 picks early at pick 200.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback.
That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get protection for the quarterback. A real need, handled.
In pick No. 25 they get a true top target, reach and all. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
By-the-book stuff, Ben Sinnott at the Round 4 slot squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Beau Brade at pick 132 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Mason McCormick at No. 133 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Nehemiah Pritchett at the 158th overall pick. It adds depth where they could use a little.
No drama and no debate, Khristian Boyd went about where he belonged in pick No. 177. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Eyabi Okie-Anoma at the Round 6 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
They paid a round early for Jordan Magee in Round 6, Pick 29, more than the board wanted. It fills a real need, too.
A quiet steal in No. 248: Dominique Hampton for less than the market said. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
LaDarius Henderson in pick 251 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A need, and now a little less of one.
A tidy bit of business in the 252nd overall pick, where Edefuan Ulofoshio graded well above the range. The roster fit checks out.
