Somebody took the Eagles to the cleaners. The deals they made bled real value, and the whole class wears it.
They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. That is a linebacker worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.
Job largely done: cornerback settled and 7 of 9 of the wish list covered.
It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.
Pick-by-Pick
In Round 1, Pick 22 they get an island corner at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Kingsley Suamataia at slot 53 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
The board had Payton Wilson higher than the 60th overall pick, and the linebacker fell to them anyway. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Calen Bullock in the 69th pick is fair value, right on his grade. It fills a real need, too.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braelon Allen. A need, and now a little less of one.
A quiet steal in pick 139: Mohamed Kamara for less than the market said. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
A straight-up fair deal on Jaheim Bell at No. 160, value and slot in agreement. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Kitan Oladapo slipping to the Round 5 slot is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A reach on Tahj Washington in Round 6, Pick 3; the board had better options right there. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
