The Dolphins did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Jacob Cowing fell into slot 184. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 21 they get a double-digit-sack hope. The biggest hole, addressed.
A market-rate interior defensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Braden Fiske. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Walter Rouse in No. 158 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
A wide receiver of that caliber at the 184th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Daijun Edwards at pick No. 198. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
