McGlothern should have been long gone. The Giants pounced, and earned a B.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Giants watched Dwight McGlothern slide 22 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with safety chief among the fixes.

The skill positions did well by the weekend.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.

Pick-by-Pick

R1.6 · Pick 6 · Malik Nabers · WR · rank 4
In the 6th overall pick they get a No. 1 receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
R2.15 · Pick 47 · Jordan Morgan · OT · rank 37
A slide stopped in the Round 2 slot, with Jordan Morgan worth more than the price. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
R3.6 · Pick 70 · Christian Haynes · OG · rank 65
Christian Haynes at slot 70 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
R4.7 · Pick 107 · Brenden Rice · WR · rank 96
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Brenden Rice in Round 4, Pick 7. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
R5.5 · Pick 141 · Beau Brade · S · rank 134
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 141 with a little surplus value in Beau Brade. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
R6.8 · Pick 183 · Dwight McGlothern · CB · rank 161
Dwight McGlothern in No. 183 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
