The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.
On value alone, Jacobs makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving safety unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. It is a win-now wager, and the future is the stake.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the safety spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 3 they get their quarterback of the future. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Nothing to complain about; Braiden McGregor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
By-the-book stuff, Jha'Quan Jackson at No. 180 squarely in line with his ranking. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
A clean, defensible pick in the 193rd pick with a little surplus value in Daijun Edwards. A need, and now a little less of one.
Curtis Jacobs in pick No. 230 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
