The value of the weekend has a name and a slot: Savion Williams, the 150th overall pick, roughly 57 picks past where he belonged.
The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. A whole weekend of picks and cornerback is somehow still a want.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.
Pick-by-Pick
In the Round 1 slot they get an every-down engine for the run game, outstanding value to boot.
Good price on Jihaad Campbell in pick No. 44, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Demetrius Knight Jr. slid further than he should have, and the 76th pick is lovely value for the linebacker. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Savion Williams in the 150th overall pick should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
The board fumbled Logan Brown all the way to pick 170, and they scooped it up. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
They took JJ Pegues at par in slot 174, which is nothing to complain about. It fills a real need, too.
