The Vikings spent the pick that matters most on Jayden Daniels, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. Call it a C+ and check back in two years.
The Hall pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. They punted on safety, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Rosemy-Jacksaint.
Quarterback was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
A perfectly average weekend, for better and for worse.
Pick-by-Pick
In pick 5 they get a passer to set the clock by at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
They paid a round early for Darius Robinson in Round 4, Pick 8, more than the board wanted. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
They jumped the gun on Cam Hart, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
A tidy little value on Ben Sinnott in slot 148, a step better than break-even. A need, and now a little less of one.
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint at the 160th pick. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Delmar Glaze at the 168th overall pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Gabe Hall at the Round 6 slot is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jase McClellan in No. 230. The roster fit checks out.
