The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Bears watched Oscar Delp slide 108 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.
The Zvada reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want.
Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 25th overall pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, and a steal at that.
Steal is underselling it; Mansoor Delane at slot 57 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
A top-tier linebacker at a bargain, Arvell Reese in the Round 2 slot, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
They will replay Dillon Thieneman at Round 3, Pick 25 for years; that is how good the value is. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Somehow Nicholas Singleton was still sitting there in pick No. 129, and they pounced on premier running back value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Taking Oscar Delp in No. 239 is close to grand larceny; a tight end that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dominic Zvada this early at pick 241. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
