There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Cardinals started one anyway for Marcus Harris, 196 picks ahead of schedule. A dependable weekend that grades out a B-.
That is a cornerback worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the wide receiver spot they never got to.
Pick-by-Pick
In the 8th pick they get a load in the middle. A clean fit for the roster.
Drew Allar in Round 2, Pick 8 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Marcus Harris at pick 104 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
They talked themselves into Marcus Mbow at the 136th overall pick, and the board did not agree. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
A real head-scratcher, KJ Jefferson in slot 168 is miles ahead of his ranking. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
They robbed the room for Jabbar Muhammad here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. A minor itch, scratched.
